2020 Bram Stoker Awards

Congratulations to Ohio HWA chapter member Tim Waggoner, whose book Writing in the Dark has made it onto this year’s preliminary ballot for the 2020 Horror Writers Association Bram Stoker Award for Superior Achievement in Nonfiction. His article “Speaking of Horror,” which appeared in The Writer magazine, is on the preliminary ballot for Superior Achievement in Short Nonfiction.

The final, official list of nominees will be announced February 23. Good luck, Tim!

Tim Waggoner has published over fifty novels and seven collections of short stories. He writes dark fantasy and horror, as well as media tie-ins. He’s won the Bram Stoker Award, the HWA’s Mentor of the Year Award, and he’s been a finalist for the Shirley Jackson Award, the Scribe Award, and the Splatterpunk Award. He’s also a full-time tenured professor who teaches creative writing and composition at Sinclair College in Dayton, Ohio. You can learn more about Tim and his work on his website here.
